I wanted to take a moment to give you a better understanding of who I am and where I have come from. I am the founder and vice president of Outdoor Educators Insurance & Risk Management.
For the past eight years we have specialized in creating custom insurance & safety programs for those who work in the outdoor industry. Prior to this I worked as an underwriter writing insurance polices for Safeco, Chubb and Great American. I hold the highest designation in the insurance field (CPCU), and have a certificate in Wilderness First Aid from the NOLS Wilderness Medical Institute.
Playing in and conserving the outdoors is my life's passion and living in Montana affords me ample opportunities to pursue that.
My bride Tara is from Corpus Christi Texas and we have twin boys, Luke and Dylan who are six. We also have two girls, Ella who is three and Ashlyn just turned two.
I hope this gives you a brief glance into my life. My goal is to form long-term trusting relationships with all of my clients. I believe this is the key to making business successful and enjoyable. If you have any questions for me professionally or personally please feel free to ask.

“The AMC Guide to Outdoor Leadership is an excellent resource for wilderness leaders new and old. Kosseff does a superb job of identifying the most important topics leaders should consider. His writing is clear and his recommended practices are consistent with industry standards. This is a well written, enjoyable leadership resource that will be valuable to anyone responsible for leading trips in the outdoors.”
- Dan Garvey, Ph.D., President, Prescott College

"The Yellowstone Association has worked with Alex Kosseff several times over the last few years to review and improve the safety program for our field school inside Yellowstone National Park. We always enjoy working with him, and we are never disappointed in the results. I am particularly impressed with Alex's ability to talk with staff throughout the organization, grasp key issues and constraints, and then recommend improvements which are realistic and achievable.
If you want to take your safety program to the next level, I highly recommend working with Alex. The cost is reasonable, the process is simple, and the results are easy to see. Our staff is very proud of the program we developed with his help."
- Jeff Brown, Director of Education, Yellowstone Association

"Five years ago OEI put together the general liability insurance for the Grand Circle Field School. They have an understanding of our industry exposures and how to safeguard us against them through proper insurance. They have always been there to answer any questions or concerns I might have.
I would recommend them to anyone in our industry who is shopping for liability insurance."
- Judy Durzo, Board of Directors Chair, Grand Circle Field School
Please call or send us your information and we can start the process to see if the OEI program is right for you.
